The 10 Q's For Wedding Shows

As a wedding videographer, Nick recently attended the Royal Windsor Racecourse

wedding show hosted by Emperical Events, where he had the opportunity to speak with many amazing couples who were planning their big day. During the event, he was asked numerous questions about wedding videography, and he noticed that some questions came up more frequently than others. In this blog post, Nick will be sharing the top ten questions that couples asked me about wedding videography.

Why should I hire a wedding videographer? The number one question I was asked is why couples should invest in a wedding videographer. I always explain that a wedding video is the perfect way to capture all of the beautiful moments from your special day that you might miss, including the ceremony, speeches, and first dance. Your wedding video will be something you can cherish for years to come, and it's a great way to relive the emotions and memories of your big day.

What styles of wedding videography do you offer? Another common question I received is about the different styles of wedding videography available. Some couples prefer a cinematic style, which is more artistic and focuses on creating a film-like experience. Others prefer a documentary style, which is more traditional and captures the day in a chronological order. I always offer both options to my clients, as each style has its own unique benefits.

How long will it take to receive our wedding video? This is an important question, as couples are often eager to relive their big day as soon as possible. I always give a clear timeline for when the video will be ready, which is typically 8-12 weeks after the wedding day. Of course, this can vary depending on the complexity of the project and other factors.

How involved will we be in the editing process? Some couples are more hands-on than others when it comes to the editing process. I always discuss the editing process with my clients before we begin, so they know what to expect. I typically offer a rough cut for feedback before finalizing the video, which allows couples to make any necessary changes.

What kind of equipment do you use? Equipment is an important factor to consider when choosing a wedding videographer. I always use high-quality equipment, including professional cameras, audio equipment, and lighting. This ensures that the video looks and sounds amazing, no matter the lighting conditions or other factors.

Can we choose our own music for the video? Music plays a big role in creating the right atmosphere for your wedding video. I always ask couples to choose their own music, as this helps to make the video more personal and meaningful to them. Of course, I'm always happy to offer suggestions if needed.

Do you offer drone footage? Drone footage is becoming increasingly popular in wedding videography, as it offers a unique and stunning perspective of your big day. I always offer drone footage as an option for my clients, as long as it's allowed at the venue and doesn't pose any safety risks.

How much should we expect to pay for wedding videography? The cost of wedding videography can vary depending on a number of factors, including the length of the video, the number of videographers, and the level of editing required. I always provide a clear quote upfront, so couples know exactly what they can expect to pay.

What's the most important thing to consider when choosing a wedding videographer? This is a great question, as it really gets to the heart of what couples should be looking for in a wedding videographer. I always tell couples to look for someone who is passionate about their work, has experience in the industry, and who they feel comfortable working with.

What sets you apart from other wedding videographers? I always emphasise my passion for storytelling and my commitment to capturing every special moment of their day. I pride myself on my attention to detail and my ability to create a personalized experience for each couple, taking the time to get to know them and their unique vision for their wedding video. I also have extensive experience in the industry and a portfolio of work that showcases my skills and style.
