Some love stories are written across continents and cultures — filled with laughter, colour, and moments that deserve to be captured forever. Rebecca and Shayan’s wedding at the stunning Highley Manor was one of those rare days where emotion, heritage, and pure joy flowed through every frame.
And as their wedding videographer, I had the absolute pleasure of preserving it all.
Though they attended the same secondary school, Rebecca and Shayan’s paths didn’t properly cross until years later, when a Tinder swipe set everything in motion. Their first date was intimate and laid-back — a pub near Baker Street, then pizza, beer, and Pitch Perfect back at Shayan’s. You couldn’t script it better.
When Shayan proposed, it was equally cinematic. Rebecca had been volunteering in Tanzania, and he flew out to meet her in Zanzibar. On their second night, under the stars on a rooftop terrace, he asked her to marry him. That moment set the tone for the magic I’d later capture on camera.
The wedding took place at Highley Manor — a venue full of charm and character. The ceremony began with personal vows and was followed by a heartfelt Persian ceremony led by Shayan’s father, a beautiful nod to his heritage. As a filmmaker, these intimate, cultural layers always add richness to a story — and this day was full of them.
Bright colours, glowing disco balls, and authentic emotion shaped the rest of the day. From the ceremony to the first dance, it was all about energy and expression — the kind of raw, unscripted moments I love to shoot.
Rebecca and Shayan told me they wanted their wedding film to reflect the little things — the smiles, glances, and laughter they might not notice on the day. That’s exactly what I set out to capture.
While the timeline included the traditional beats — prep in the morning, a wedding breakfast, three heartfelt speeches — the real story unfolded in the in-between. The hugs before the ceremony. The whispered jokes. The way Rebecca looked at Shayan as she walked down the aisle.
Those are the moments that make a wedding film feel alive.
With just 58 guests, the atmosphere felt warm and deeply personal. It gave me space to move naturally, to blend in, and to film without intruding — allowing the true spirit of the day to shine through.
And when the sun dipped and the dance floor filled, everything came together: the lights, the colour, the music, and the joy. This is where video becomes powerful — where you don’t just see the wedding, you feel it again.
Rebecca and Shayan’s wedding was everything a wedding should be: personal, fun, heartfelt, and unforgettable. For me, it was a privilege to film.
If you’re planning your own day and want a wedding film that captures not just how it looked, but how it felt — from nerves in the morning to the last spin on the dance floor — I’d love to chat.
Let’s make something you’ll want to watch again and again.
